Webhosting company sucks!

Again my webhosting company EMC has screwed up something. Renewing my 'secure certificate' (which makes certain pages of my gallery shop website secure for order processing) today resulted in them messing something up so I am unable to take any orders. It should have been a simple procedure. Yet anytime they have to make ANY changes to my site, it ends up a disaster.

Hopefully they will quickly resolve the issue. Of course they won't apologize or even acknowledge they messed up, they never do.

Looks like it's up and running again!

Hmmm while I'm not inclined to suggest the above reasoning. I thikn at some time we all encounter issues with web hosting. It is not unusual, but glad to hear it has been recitifed. Especially when livelihood depends on it.

I tend to agree with Shaney. In most big corporations their are too many GLBT folk and enlightened individuals working there for them to have bigoted policies.

And I do understand that technical difficulties arrise from time to time. It's just that everytime they have to meddle with my site it stops working.

I also do not believe there is any bigotry at work here. They are simply incompetent. Every single time I've had to deal with them, they have done something that has broken the website. And then I have to point out to them how to fix it. It's very frustrating. But that's fine. We're looking for a new host.

The stories I could tell you about unreliable, incoherent webhosts. Argh... I know it just makes your blood boil, doesn't it?

If I may recommend one - I've been with asmallorange.com since last spring and have never met a more reliable or dedicated team.

Anytime I have a problem, I just report it and they respond within about 5 minutes, day or night. The only downside is they don't offer phone support, but I can't complain because any small issue I've had has been fixed promptly.

When I see a fellow person in need, I like to recommend a good service.

On a more positive note, I love your work!

Hey Nathan,

I'll go check out asmallorange.com. I did find another place and was planning to go with them, OCC is the name. It's just tough finding hosting companies that will do 'adult' sites and offer functions that I need.

It's too bad to hear that because you have a fantatic website, I just spnet 2 hours on it linking and worshiping your art ;-)
You are quite amazingly talented, thanks for sharing your beautiful creations with the world.

Thanks Anon', glad you enjoy the site and my artwork. But I've already found a possible new hosting company, and with the help of my friend Mark, the new site will be better than ever!
