on the drawing board: something sweet

After two full frontals in a row and a good majority of the works I've done so far this year featuring mostly naked men, I found myself in the mood for something a little sweet.  Cake anyone?

New Release: "Hung"

Kissed by the sun and caressed by a gentle breeze, it will softly swing back and forth all day long, even enduring a good stiff gust if it's well hung.

Hung is my latest work to be a part of my upcoming show Under the Sun this August at the Lyman-Eyer Gallery in Provincetown, MA. While the original is available for purchase, it must remain with the gallery through the end of my show.

Limited edition Gallery and Studio prints are available through BREYETTE.COM at the Special First Day Price through Midnight ET tomorrow.

My work included in "Cock Tales" anthology

The latest hot & sweaty anthology from publisher Bruno Gmunder, "Cock Tales" focuses on the male member.
I'm flattered to have my pastel paintings included among the great fine art and photographic artists.

One of my works that is in the books is "Jocks".  The original is available for purchase from my website, as well as limited edition prints of it.

on the drawing board: sunny and in the 70's

I 've gotten much of the work on the face done, here in this in progress photo.  My friend Mark says, " it's looking kind of 70's ish."  I take that as a good thing.  I've always liked having a tinge of retro in my works.

on the drawing board: domestic god

I've always incorporated nature into many of my works, but of late (the past few years) I've become aware, and then more deliberate, of giving a nod to the environment and our connection to and hopefully preservation of it.  You can see it in works like "Buck", "Bare In the Woods", "Encounter", and especially "Melt".  Sexy men are still at the core of my work but having a domestic god trade in the electric dryer for a clothesline is my subtle nod to mother nature...and gives new ideas to the phrase 'hung out to dry.'

North Carolina's Straight Supremacists re-instate discrimination into consitution

Voters in North Carolina amended their state constitution on Tuesday, to make the marriage of 1 man and 1 woman the only legally recognized civil union.

The last time the states bigots altered the constitution was 1875 when they banned interracial marriage between blacks and whites.  It was eventually removed, 96 years later.

Those who ban marriage equality fall into the same trash heap as the KKK, neo-NaZi's and any other group that denies rights and equality in order to gain a sense of superiority.  They try to deflect their bigotry behind unsubstantial reasons like religion or tradition, but it simply comes down to the fact they need to feel they are better than someone else.  They are straight supremacists.

New Release: "Memento"

He found them the next morning. They were blue, much like the sea to which his sailor had been bound to return. Had they been left in haste? Or as a deliberate reminder, perhaps even as a promise to return? Whichever it happened to be, their sight, feel and scent meant they would forever be a cherished memento.

While the original is available for purchase, it will remain with the Lyman-Eyer gallery through the end of my upcoming show in August. Limited edition Gallery and Studio prints are available for immediate purchase at the Special First Day Price through Midnight ET tomorrow May 9, 2012.

Here's the drawing I've done for my next piece...I figure it's time for a full frontal.  You'll have to wait to see IT though!
