New Original & Prints: "Selfie"

Ten years ago I did my first full frontal self-portrait, Naked. I remember feeling anxious about putting it all out there. But at the same time I found it liberating, not to mention a boost to my self-confidence. And while I have since posed for certain parts of my figures, and I was the model for the Restraint series, I hadn't since done a full frontal nude self portrait. But then a friend suggested I do a 10th anniversary piece, and I of course started feeling anxious. But here I am, once again putting it all out there, with my Selfie.

There's the freshly squeeze OJ, the rich hot coffee, the assorted delectable omelets, crispy home fries, and a seasonal selection of homemade pies. There's also the quaint retro atmosphere and the homespun chit chat. But the number one allure of the diner are the hot truckers that stop in and plant their buns at a counter stool, giving anyone in the opposite booth a hot view to go along with their hot breakfast. New Work: "Sweat. Pant."

You don't know his name. You've barely ever spoke. He's your motivation, your ideal, your goal. He's perfection. He's a tease. You see him nearly everyday, always that same hat and those low hung clingy sweatpants that drape around his firm round glutes and ample bulge. Sometimes he catches you looking as he works out. You can't help it. You love watching him sweat, listening to him pant.

New Original & Print: "Bathed In Love"

Many people think of a bath simply as a waste of time and water when compared to the efficiency of a shower. But any bather will tell you, a soak in the tub isn't really about washing up. It's more about well being than hygiene. Throughout history the act of bathing has been ritualistic and very often a social activity. Sharing a bath with a special someone gives you time together without distractions (leave the tablet and smart phone in the other room) and it forces you into self exposure, vulnerability and intimacy. Sure, it may lead to other activities, but you can always take a shower after. 

My latest piece is also the first work in my upcoming exhibit (more on that below). While the original is available now for purchase through Lyman-Eyer, it must remain with the gallery until after my 2014 Summer show.

New Original and Prints: "Pumpkin Head: The Legend of Creepy Swallows"

Once Autumn came and dusk began to arrive early, men from town would take a late afternoon stroll through the nearby woods. It wasn't, as they often would say, to appreciate the fall colors, the crisp fresh air, or to clear their minds of clutter. In fact what was on their minds was very clear. 

Of course the women of the town were afraid to go into the woods, what with all the wild animals and that frightening tale of the headless horsemen. 

But the men weren't afraid. They knew of another tale. One with a bit more truth to it. In fact, they hoped for an encounter with Pumpkin Head, as he was referred. An anonymous gentlemen, as the story goes, who would don a hollowed out pumpkin for a mask and with great gusto, 'service' the lucky townsmen who wandered the eerie woods.

New Pastel Painting: "Tie the Knot"

It almost feels like a cosmic alignment. My latest piece celebrates a sexy beginning to Summer as well as a playful twist on gay marriage, and it turned out that the first full week of Summer saw the Supreme Court grant federal recognition of same-sex marriages by overturning DOMA while their action on Prop 8 resumed same-sex marriages in California. New Work: "Thirst"

It is a natural craving, an animal instinct, a driving force that can cause you to disregard all else until you are satisfied. Whatever it may take... a tall glass of water, an ice cold beer, or perhaps a big muscled hairy bear of a man... you have to quench your thirst! 

Perhaps my recent visit to Provincetown and the upcoming annual Bear Week - which I've had the pleasure of experiencing - had something to do with my latest work, Thirst. Perhaps. All I know is that I started it right after getting back.

It's something we do every day, we almost take it for granted, and we're usually looking forward to it. Because too often it follows one of those days where nothing seemed to go right, there was non-stop chaos, and it felt like the day was never going to end. It's Christmas Eve and you're snowed in. Luckily you've got hot cocoa, a crackling fire and someone special to keep you warm, so you don't really mind that it's your turn to fetch more logs outside. Hearing a distant jingle, you look up into the moonlit sky and see a magically, wonderful site...

New Release: "Ghouls Gone Wild"

Each with a devilish grin, they knew it was time to take a bite out of this Hallowe'en party. The vampire had been wanting to sink his teeth into his handsome mummy all night. Time to make a move and see if he could raise the dead. A little tug here, a little unwrapping there, and long before dawn they were both a couple of ghouls gone wild. After all, getting undressed for Hallowe'en can sometimes be more fun than getting dressed up for it!

New Release(s): "Out In the Open"

He feels a bit exposed out among the elements, but those elements are his connection to nature, something we are all a part of. Why should he care so much if others might see? That's no way to live! Letting go of those trivial concerns he is overcome with a tremendous sense of freedom. And he realizes, things are so much better out in the open.

Out in the Open is the final piece in my upcoming show, Seasons of Love. I'll be delivering it to the gallery this Friday in time for the reception.

Special Print Variant

I originally had a swimsuit on the front figure, but decided that if I'm talking about being out in the open I might as well put it all out there. But before changing the original, I decided I would offer a very limited edition Studio print of Out In the Open (swimsuit variant), also at the Special First Day Price through Midnight ET tomorrow.

This work marks the second time I'm releasing a "variant" limited edition print. The original depicts a nude male couple taking a shower outdoors, while the variant has the figure in front in a swimsuit.

The first time I did a variant, the work was Leap of Faith, featuring a speedo-clad cliff diver. The variant limited edition print depicted the subject nude.

New Release: "Dobrý Den"

Ever since Petr was a young boy he'd had a habit... no, a compulsion... to peer outside his window first thing upon waking. At first he passed it off as simply being curious what Mother Nature had in store for him, so he could plan his day accordingly. But as he grew older it became impossible to deny a need to establish a connection with the outside world, as if something... or someone... was simply awaiting his discovery.

Now peering out at the simple little stone street below and across the terracotta colored rooftops, his gaze immediately goes to his neighbor's window. And once again his compulsion has paid off, as it has all summer long. Standing there was a so-far unnamed, raven haired beauty, naked save for a towel. Was he oblivious to Petr's eyes upon him, or was he being an enticing tease? Either way, Mother Nature had greeted Petr with a good morning, or as he would say in his native tongue, dobrý den!

My latest work, Dobrý Den, was inspired by a photo I took while on vacation last year in Prague. The charming little buildings on the street started me wondering, who lives here, what might it be like to live in this place. Of course my mind gave it a sexy little slant!

New Pride T's!

Being that June has become known as pride month, I've created new T-shirts featuring my pastel painting "Pride".  Their are 4 to choose from.  Two say "Pride", and the other two say "Baby I Was Born This Gay".  They are now available in my Art of the T's T-shirt shop.  Hope ya like 'em!
