New Release: "Recruit"

Shaving the head, either voluntarily or as a requirement, has often been used as a way to initiate oneself into a group, to create a collective oneness. Others shave their heads to gain a sense of identity, to stand out from the crowd. For whatever reason, it is almost always a near religious experience, but at the same time very liberating.

Having never before done a piece featuring a guy having his head shaved, I though it would be a fun and interesting challenge. Other aspects, such as the arm tattoo and the punching bag, came toward the end.

To purchase the original, contact the Lyman-Eyer Gallery. Full size limited edition gallery, limited edition studio, and open edition portfolio prints are available for purchase. The Day of Issue sale is on until around Midnight ET August 14, 2008.

And then there some guys who decide they are on their way to losing it so why not make a canvass out of it and decorate it? I am just glad I put thought into my tatoos as I will be with them for a long time, lol. Also the feeling of a just shaved head, or any part of the body is such a clean, smooth feeling and heightens all those little nerve fibers! It can be erotic or a pain in the ass. When you are in a hurry to shave to go to a formal occasion, which is rare...the formality for me....it takes many more minutes to add on a head. I am glad you did this piece, I can identify wih the tingling going down his sping as the clippers are vibrating against his skin and neck muscles. I am very happy for you with your recent increase in exposure, sales and now the erotic publishing. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy Michael. It was just a matter of time, I see artists on Tom of Finland Galleries and emerging artists who are talented but they have a way to go to to catch up with you, you spitfire!
Congrats.....Ron

For those of us who love our undies, just curious as to what the black tag is above the Recruit's ample pouch. . .

I left that up to the viewers interpretation. :-)
