On the Drawing Board: face the fire

Here's my latest. I am doing a piece for a friend, a commission of sorts. Firemen get him hot under the collar, so that is what he's requested. The face challenged me at first. I had a hard time finding the right expression. I wasn't exactly sure of how I wanted him to look, but knew I didn't like what I was coming up with. After much tweaking and erasing, and even completely erasing the face I had I finally figured out that I wanted him to look fatigued and embattled from fighting a fire yet subtly triumphant, not cocky.

This is going to be amazing. I love muscle definition and the subtle way you can see the veins underneath. The small patch of soot on the forhead is perfect. I'm gonna have to get a second job so I can start purchasing some prints or if there's any sugar daddies out there who like Missouri farmboys who put on a dress and likes to collect artwork, Give me a shout..haha. Michael you're the best!!
