University administrators opted to cancel the Target After Hours Shopping Event—a nationwide program in which Target keeps various stores open after hours and provides transportation for college freshmen to shop and receive prizes. This was to be part of the First 40 Days series of events at Wash. U. for the incoming freshmen class.

Even though the interest of citizens vastly differs from the interests of corporations the US Supreme Court in January gave them and other organization (foreign and domestic) the legal right to bribe/fund political candidates. Perhaps the boycott of Target and BestBuy will turn into corporate suicide for corporations looking to meddle with our 'by the people, for the people' republic.
