"We the Slaves of the United Corporations of Americ..."

American democracy died a little more today as the Republican dominated Supreme Court voted to lift the limit a corporation can donate to a politcal candidate.  Corporations rule (and are ruining) this country.  Behind every problem we're facing from war to obesity, health care to global warming you'll find a corporation, and the GOP is their political arm.

"With a stroke of the pen, five justices wiped out a century of American history devoted to preventing corporate corruption of our democracy," declared Fred Wertheimer, president of the Washington-based government-watchdog group Democracy 21.

"The First Amendment protects more than just the individual on a soapbox and the lonely pamphleteer," wrote the court in its 5-4 decision.

However, it's quite certain that the founding fathers wrote the Constitution with the liberties of the individual in mind.  It does not read "We the Corporations of the United States of America", it's "We the People".  They did not intend a corporation to be able to spend billions of dollars to get their own puppet elected.
