On The Drawing Board: Showing Some Skin

I always try to give my pieces a little bit of spice. Sure some works I do are definitely 'erotica' but a lot of what I do is capturing moments that may seem almost mundane and extruding or infusing the beauty and sensuality in them.

In a time when there is easy access to explicit pornography, it's still those little things that trigger the libido. It can be the way a guy stands, the arch of an eyebrow, flashing a little midsection when reaching over head or seeing his briefs when he bends over. While the whole enchilada is great too, it nice that it doesn't desensitize us to the power of subtleties.

Hey Michael,

I completely agree with you here - sometimes it's just sexier when a little more is left to the imagination. Can't wait to see this piece as it progresses!

I love your collection of work and find it quite inspiring. I do some pin-up art too if you'd like to check it it. My website is www.paulrichmondstudio.com and my pin-ups are in the "Cheesecake Boy" section.

Keep up the great work - maybe we'll get to exhibit together someday!

All the best,
Paul

Hey Paul,

Glad you like my stuff. I too enjoy your work. I love the playfulness of it.

Is your 'Stocking Stuffer' piece new this year? Coincidentally, I named my holiday work 'Stocking Stuffers'. I guess it's true about great minds.

Love the Dolly of Oz piece too!

Thanks for checking out my site!

That is a coincidence about "Stocking Stuffer" - I did mine in February sitting on a beach towel in Fort Lauderdale. I'm actually working on some new Cheesecake Boy pieces right now for the "Dirty Show" in Detroit in a few months. Have you ever participated? This is my first time and I'm not sure what to expect, but you might want to check it out (just google dirty show and their website has the prospectus).

Let me know if you'd be interested in trading prints -- my partner and I LOVE your drawing of the guy seated in profile on the beach and I'd love to give it to him as a gift. If there's anything of mine you'd be interested in, let me know. Otherwise, I'll just order it from your site.

Good luck and can't wait to see your new piece when it's finished!

All the best,
Paul
