Bruno Gmunder Call For Art

Publisher Bruno Gmunder is having a call for artists to submit work for their upcoming anthology "C.U.M.". The title is a 'heads up' on it's theme.  The subject is not exactly my forté when it comes to art, so I'll be sitting this one out.  But I know there are artists out there that explore the more explicit side of the male and this is a good chance for recognition.  For more visit: http://www.brunogmuender.com/news/bruno-gmunder-is-proud-to-announce-a-new-call-for-submissions/

on the drawing board: cowboy up!

I'm not sure why, but throw a cowboy hat on a guy and he's sure to get a second glance.  I certainly have a good 'ole time whenever I express the cowboy in me on paper.  And though I've painted many men in many situations, (the number of speedo/beach scenes must be up to a few dozen by now) it seems the cowboy pieces are what sticks in many peoples minds when thinking of my work.

New Release: "Bath Time"

After an active day at the park, an adventure through the woods, or frolicking at the beach, a good long sudsy soak is both a necessary and gratifying undertaking for a dog and his boy.

Bath Time is the latest work in my upcoming show, Under the Sun. While the original is available for immediate purchase, it will remain with the Lyman-Eyer gallery through the end of my show in August.

Limited edition Gallery and Studio prints are available at the special day of release price through Midnight ET tomorrow.

on the drawing board: keeping it moving

With my solo exhibit just about 2 months away there's no time to rest.  Luckily I'm sometimes able to cultivate an idea for my next painting while I'm finishing up my current one.

I don't want to give too much away so here's just a small portion of the whole sketch.

New Release: "Suited For Each Other"

What draws you together initially might be physical attraction, but as you share your thoughts and stories you may find that you're more than just physically compatible. Once you discover that you're ultimately suited for each other, it's time to set the date to get Suited for Each Other.

Suited for Each Other is the latest piece in my upcoming show, Under the Sun. While the original is available for immediate purchase, it must remain with the Lyman Eyer gallery through the end of my show in August.

Limited edition Gallery and Studio prints can be purchased directly from BREYETTE.COM at the special first day price through Midnight ET tomorrow.

on the drawing board: something sweet

After two full frontals in a row and a good majority of the works I've done so far this year featuring mostly naked men, I found myself in the mood for something a little sweet.  Cake anyone?

New Release: "Hung"

Kissed by the sun and caressed by a gentle breeze, it will softly swing back and forth all day long, even enduring a good stiff gust if it's well hung.

Hung is my latest work to be a part of my upcoming show Under the Sun this August at the Lyman-Eyer Gallery in Provincetown, MA. While the original is available for purchase, it must remain with the gallery through the end of my show.

Limited edition Gallery and Studio prints are available through BREYETTE.COM at the Special First Day Price through Midnight ET tomorrow.

My work included in "Cock Tales" anthology

The latest hot & sweaty anthology from publisher Bruno Gmunder, "Cock Tales" focuses on the male member.
I'm flattered to have my pastel paintings included among the great fine art and photographic artists.

One of my works that is in the books is "Jocks".  The original is available for purchase from my website, as well as limited edition prints of it.

on the drawing board: sunny and in the 70's

I 've gotten much of the work on the face done, here in this in progress photo.  My friend Mark says, " it's looking kind of 70's ish."  I take that as a good thing.  I've always liked having a tinge of retro in my works.

on the drawing board: domestic god

I've always incorporated nature into many of my works, but of late (the past few years) I've become aware, and then more deliberate, of giving a nod to the environment and our connection to and hopefully preservation of it.  You can see it in works like "Buck", "Bare In the Woods", "Encounter", and especially "Melt".  Sexy men are still at the core of my work but having a domestic god trade in the electric dryer for a clothesline is my subtle nod to mother nature...and gives new ideas to the phrase 'hung out to dry.'
