New Release: "Beach Day"

The weather demands it. The mind craves it. Sometimes the stars line up to make it happen, other times you just have take matters into your own hands and play a little hooky. Whether you planned ahead or it's spur of the moment, you pack your water, towel, swimsuit and other essentials and make a beeline where sea, sand and sun meet. It's time for a Beach Day.

The original is available for purchase through the Lyman-Eyer gallery, but will remain with the gallery through the end of my upcoming show Seasons of Love in August. Limited edition Gallery and Studio prints are available for purchase through BREYETTE.COM at the Special First Day Price through Midnight ET tomorrow.

New Pride T's!

Being that June has become known as pride month, I've created new T-shirts featuring my pastel painting "Pride".  Their are 4 to choose from.  Two say "Pride", and the other two say "Baby I Was Born This Gay".  They are now available in my Art of the T's T-shirt shop.  Hope ya like 'em!

on the drawing board: buns in the sun

Every once in awhile when I work on a pastel, I get this sense that I have graduated to the next level.  I feel like I've achieved something, reached a milestone. In this case I am realizing that all the elements and effects I am rendering in the picture I have done before so I don't have figure out the 'how to' or go through a trial and error period to get what I am after.  Instead I can just proceed and indulge in the details and try to take things up a notch.

on the drawing board: 180 degrees

Time to share what I'm working on now.
A few years back I did a piece I called "Snow Day", thinking of what an unsuspected treat it is to get the day off and stay in doors because the nasty wintery weather is calling the shots.  So now I'm taking it to the flip side, when the weather is too nice to stay indoors and you call the shots by taking a day off.  I'm even echoing the pose from "Snow Day".
